I’ve long thought Los Angeles was a great place to live but a difficult place to visit, unless you’re fortunate enough to have a proper guide. I’m an L.A. native and full time bartender who’s passionate about the food and drinks scene here. My tours focus on bars and restaurants, with the occasional point of historical interest. I do not walk around with a neon ball on the end of an antenna reciting facts I’ve memorized. I am a living breathing host who tells stories, cracks wise and drops the occasional f-bomb. I will not take you to Grauman’s Chinese Theater, the Hollywood sign or Beverly Hills. Not that there is anything wrong with those things, but they are obvious and I love the esoteric.

You might find yourself sipping a perfectly stirred Manhattan in an elegant lounge, or eating street tacos in a parking lot at 1:00 am. What you will not be is bored. I love the unusual and uncommon and will take you to at least three restaurants, three bars and one or two places of historical interest that are personal favorites. You must be adventurous! I eat and drink deeply when I travel and love others who do the same. As I said, this tour isn’t for everyone, but if you love diversity and spontaneity you will love your night with me.

Another way this tour is different is that for the most part, the food and drinks are not included. I will provide a few tricks and treats along the way, but beyond that you will be responsible for your expenses. You are getting my knowledge, experience, and taste. Eating and drinking at all or none of the establishments not covered by me will impact the total cost, but many are relatively inexpensive and I recommend partaking in most or all of our stops. You’re on vacation, make the most of it. It will be worth it, or your money back.

Another perk—I’m a bartender. If you’re a drinks enthusiast or mix at home, feel free to pick my brain about anything booze related. Wondering if the Old Fashioned you make at home is as good as the one at your favorite bar? I can help (hint: you’re almost there). I keep these tours to four people or under for a reason: I want to talk to all of you. About drinks or anything else.

Lastly, once the tour is over I am keen on taking people out who still have the energy to do so. This is where 1:00 am tacos come in. 😈

Thanks to Zach, we got to see the best of LA without the hassle. Most tours are rushed and superficial, but Zach’s tour made for an exciting day seeing what Los Angeles has to offer with plenty of time to enjoy the sites and flavors of the city.
